Eye Exams

We offer comprehensive eye exams which test the eyes for visual acuity, eye alignment, eye movement, and depth perception. Our optometrist checks for signs of overall health problems with state of the art retinal scans. During your comprehensive eye exam, our team will update your medical history if you have been seen by us previously. If you're a new patient, we will create a history by asking you questions about your personal medical history, your family medical history, any current medical condition you might have and any medication if you take. The doctor will also ask about prior surgeries. The reason we request this information is to establish a baseline for future exams, and it should be noted that the eyes change from year to year. Additionally, certain medications and diseases like diabetes can affect the eye health and change the glasses prescription.

Contact Lenses And Exams

If you are a contact lens wearer or you are trying them out for the first time, it is important that you schedule an appointment for a contact lens fitting exam. These types of eye exams differ from comprehensive eye exams. Our contact lens fitting exams generally take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. During the exam, the doctor will select a lens she feels would be best for your eyes based on her examination. She will place the lens in your eye to make sure it fits correctly, your vision is clear and you are comfortable. This could require additional visits.

Ill-fitting contacts can damage the eye and hinder vision. Our team will work with you until optimum vision and comfort is achieved, and spend time educating each patient about how to clean and take care of their contacts.

Eyeglasses and Other Eyewear

Our office features a wide variety of eyeglasses and eyewear. Our frames come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and nearly all of them can be made into a pair of prescription sunglasses. Patients who are sports enthusiasts can choose from a number of athletic frames including wrap-arounds. Sports frames can be made to accommodate both prescription and non-prescription eyeglass wearers. Patients can also choose from a vast array of lens types and colors.
